identityservicesd wants to use my confidential information stored in “com.apple.facetime:registrationV1

This windows persistently pops stating “identityservicesd wants to use my confidential information stored in “com.apple.facetime:registrationV1” in your keychain.”

Per, What is Keychain Access on Mac? – Apple Support (UK), I understand FaceTime is related to the iCloud features and functions. I do not want to be associated with iCloud or any of its products.

I will not consider allowing it to have keychain access.

How do I stop identityservicesd from harassing me for information I do not want to provide?

Hello robot131,

Since receiving these prompts, have you tried clicking the "Deny" option? If the prompts continue even after selecting this option, then If your Mac keeps asking for your keychain password provides some additional suggestions for repeated prompts from Keychain Access.

"Sync your keychain password and user password

When you first set up your account on your Mac, your user password and keychain password are the same. Whenever you log in to your computer, Keychain Access automatically unlocks the login keychain.

Under some circumstances — if, for example, the user password is changed — it can get out of sync with the keychain password.

  1. In the Keychain Access app  on your Mac, click “login” in the Keychains list.
  2. Choose Edit > Change Password for Keychain “login”.
  3. If the keychain is locked, enter the previous user password, then click OK.
  4. If you entered the correct password, a new window appears.
  5. Enter the previous user password again in the Current Password field.
  6. Enter the current user password in the New Password field.
  7. Re-enter the current user password in the Verify field, then click OK."

Regards.

I've never used FaceTme other than once to see what it was , but just found in Sys Prefs, that all options were checked, so I unchecked all & set to none...

And a Search using FindAnyFile finds 75 files/folders starting with...

com.apple.FaceTime

We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...

EtreCheck is a FREE simple little diagnostic tool to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac. It will not display any personal info.

Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...

The solution provided was not helpful.

As seen in the screen shot below, it can not resolve the issue as the 'Change Password for Keychain “login”' is greyed out.

  • Clicking on the 'Deny' button will close the window. Within two minutes, the window will pop up again.

  • Enter a password, within two minutes the window will pop up again.

As I do not use FaceTime, there is no reason for this window to appear.
