iMac Display

I have a 24” 2009 iMac running High Sierra and 2010 Mini Mac running Snow Leopard 10.6. I need this configuration to run old files.

I am trying to use the 24” iMac as display. They are both connected with a mini display cable. I followed the directions in the apple document “Use the iMac as a display”

I tried over and over all listed options in the article but I am not able to get the display mode. I also tried with the thunderbolt cable. I can connect the mini to a monitor and works fine.

Any suggestions?

Sadly the Early 2009 24" iMac does not support Target Display Mode.

Only the Late 2009 and 2010 27" models supported being used as a display.
