Apple Watch SE notification issues

I’m having an issue with receiving notifications on my Apple Watch. I’ve tried the basic troubleshooting but still issue is present. I have noticed that when I wear my watch very loose or when wearing the watch on the inside of my wrist, I receive notifications with no problem at all. I mimicked my sisters settings from her watch, since she has no issues with receiving notifications, asked her to text me while my phone was locked and in my pocket. I did not receive the alert. I flipped my watched to the inside of my wrist, asked again, and I received the alert.

any way of correcting this? Wearing the watch loose and inside just is rather annoying.

Hello avg05,

Thanks for the update. Next, we'd suggest unpairing your Apple Watch and setting it up again to see if the issue is still present. This will help to rule out any software issues that may be causing the behavior. You can find steps for doing so below:

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

When you unpair your Apple Watch, it automatically creates a backup to the paired iPhone that you'll be able to restore from when setting it up again.

Should the issue persist after trying the above, we suggest you contact Apple Support. They'll be able to look into this with you further.

Have a great day!

Greetings avg05,

If you are having difficulty with the fit on your Apple Watch, begin by following the guidance found here:

Wearing your Apple Watch

"A better fit means better readings

For best results, the back of your Apple Watch needs skin contact for features like Wrist Detect, the Taptic Engine, and the electrical and optical heart sensors. Wearing your Apple Watch with the right fit — not too tight, not too loose, and with room for your skin to breathe — keeps you comfortable and lets the sensors do their jobs.

You might want to tighten your Apple Watch band for workouts, then loosen it a bit when you’re finished. In addition, the sensors will work only if you wear your Apple Watch on the top of your wrist."

Take care.

Hello

thanks for the reply. I have tried adjusting and the only way I receive notifications is if the watch is really loose to the point where it jiggles and the face of the watch ends up on the inside of my wrist. I tightened it and have kept it on the inside and I receive notifications seamlessly. Wearing the watch like I should, tightened or just right I don’t receive notifications.
