The behaviour of the "Dictate text" action in a shortcut on iOS is inconsistent between the app, Siri and Homepod Mini.

I have created a shortcut on my iphone (iOS 16.2) called "ask John" which uses the "dictate text" action.

If I click on the shortcut, Shortcut asks me to say my text. I say"How Lake Geneva was formed" for example. The text returned by the action is exactly "How Lake Geneva was formed".

But if I call the shortcut with Siri "Hi Siri, ask John" Shortcut asks me to say my text, I say "How Lake Geneva was formed" but the action only returns "Lake Geneva" The beginning and end of the text has been lost. (I test in French)

If I do the same thing with my Homepod Mini (Version 16.2) "Hi Siri, ask John" Shortcut asks me my text, I say "How was Lake Geneva formed" but there, the shortcut is stopped, it's the "real" Siri that takes over and wants to search the web for the answer.

The "Dictate a text" action is totally inconsistent depending on how and where it is performed.

My solution was to start with the script “Dismiss Siri and continue.” The it worked fine with Siri or without.
