Airpods pro 2 tips have a weird smell

I bought 2 pairs of AirPods Pro 2nd Gen a few days before / after Christmas 2022. Unfortunately, after the first use I found that they smell terrible. Even the enclosed silicone adapters for other ear sizes have an unpleasant smell. The cleaning described here in the forum makes no sense, since the problem apparently exists since manufacturing (the AirPods are new).

According to Apple support, only a complaint directly to the dealer is possible. Replacing just the Silcon components, which obviously have a quality problem, is not possible.

Really? I have had a wide variety of in-ear headphones and never had such odor problems. Why is there no direct replacement option for the silicone parts? For the price, I would have expected more ...

I already had AirPods Pro 1st generation without any issue and any smell. Why can you not just send me a replacement of the silicone parts or send it to the apple store and I will show them there.
