Replacement and Refurbished units maintain all features and abilities of their brand new counterparts.

If the original model had some degree of water resistance the refurbished unit or the replacement unit will have it as well.

Apple Refurbished units are indistinguishable from new and work exactly the same way.

In either case, Water Damage is not covered by warranty, and it's not recommended to get either a new unit or a refurbished one wet.
