The TurboTax 2022 CD/Download software requires macOS Big Sur or later. See: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/tta-system-requirements

If you can't or don't want to upgrade your macOS, another option is to use TurboTax Online https://turbotax.intuit.com. It is excellent and will run on macOS Mojave 10.14 or newer. See: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/system-requirements

If you are unable to install Big Sur on your older Mac to enable TurboTax, there are a few workaround options you can try:

  1. Use an older version of TurboTax: If your Mac is not compatible with the latest version of TurboTax, you can try using an older version that is compatible with your Mac's operating system.
  2. Use a virtual machine: You can use a virtual machine such as VirtualBox or VMware Fusion to run Big Sur on your older Mac. This will allow you to run TurboTax on Big Sur without having to upgrade your Mac
  3. Use a different device: If your Mac is not compatible with Big Sur, you can try using a different device such as a Windows PC or a newer Mac to run TurboTax.
  4. Use the TurboTax Online: you can use the online version of TurboTax which is browser based and doesn't require installation on a specific machine.
  5. Contact TurboTax Support: If you are still unable to run TurboTax on your older Mac, you can contact TurboTax support for further assistance. They may be able to provide you with additional options or solutions.

It is always good to check the system requirement of the software before installing it, it may help you to avoid such situations.
