Recovering Deleted Messages:

Recovering Deleted Messages:

What to Consider:

A. Restore from Today's Backup:

Restore your iPhone from a backup of it that contains these messages, and you could recover them.

B. Check Messages App:

If messages was enabled on your iPhone along with your Apple computer, then check and see if the Messages app is enabled on your Mac to see if it exists in it. You'd start up your Mac, not connecting to the Internet, and open the Massages app. Then proceed from there with retrieving it. Important: Be certain you do not connect to the Internet while booting up, as syncing would delete it. So, power off your router to avoid the connection.

C.  Check your Carrier’s Site:

Log in to your Carrier’s site, seeing if you can view a history there. Doing so, myself, I can see a call log going back 90 days —but not a text messages log.

It's all there in the support document. Do you have iOS 16 installed on the phone?

  1. iOS 16 must be installed on the phone
  2. The message must have been deleted.....after....you installed iOS 16 on the phone
  3. The message must not have been deleted more than 30 days ago

All three conditions must be met for the message to show up in Recently Deleted. If you don't even see Recently Deleted, there are no messages that meet the conditions above, or you have not installed iOS 16.

Sorry, the message is gone.

Surely you know what system is installed on your phone. You already told us above that you had iOS 15 installed. We thought that you had taken the opportunity to update to iOS 16. Most users have done so because they want new features......like being able to retrieve a message that has been accidentally deleted.

If you have not updated to iOS 16, now might be a good time. You will have a good chance to restore the next message that is deleted by mistake.
