Smart Keyboard

Presumably you refer to the Smart folio keyboard. If so, the keyboard can be closed over the screen the protect both the iPad and keyboard when not being used - or the keyboard can be folded flat, behind the iPad, when you wish the use the just the iPad without detaching the keyboard from the iPad.

The Smart folio keyboard is designed to fold into either position.

We see that you have a question about using your iPad Smart Keyboard when folded. The iPad keyboards do not have an option to fold so the iPad screen is still visible.

Here are the various ways to use your Smart Keyboard Folio:

"Stand your iPad

Fold the Smart Keyboard Folio into the type position:

Fold the Smart Keyboard into a triangle with the keyboard in front of your iPad:

To use the keyboard, your iPad needs to be in the groove above the number keys and folded in the type position.
