Use This iPhone as My Location not working

Hello all, this is my first post here on the community. As a programmer I'm used to scroll the web for solutions to a problem. Sadly I wasn't able to find a solution for my problem with location sharing of my iPhone 14.

A month ago I accidentally made my iPad the default location sharing device. I tried to revert this in several ways:

• Clicking "Use This iPhone as My Location" under the Find My menu. Note: "My Location" indicates iPad and "Share My Location" toggle button is greyed out.
• Resetting my location settings on both devices didn't seem to help
• Updating both devices to the latest version didn't seem to do anything either.
• Third-party software seemed a bit tricky, therefor I'm trying my luck here with the community.
