Screen time app limits dropping

I set app limits for my kids, the limits are on their phones after I set them up it but the next day they are gone. This did not happen before and is really frustrating. Why can this not just be fixed? It’s not a restart issue or user error or wrong iOS version, it’s an error and needs fixing.

I also use Family Link for Android, work great. Apple is a premium product……..

Hello Richard_uk10,

App Limits is a great feature! With the limits disappearing come the next day, you'll want to ensure your devices and their devices are running the latest iOS. While simple, updating is a great step that can help with resolving many issues. You can find the steps for updating listed below and outlined in the following article.

  1. "Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do."

Hello Todd0213,

I totally agree with you. App Limits is a great feature. But only if it works. And for me it doesn't work for a while now. It is absolutely annoying when such a feature doesn't work reliably. And it has nothing to do with the version of iOS. Our devices ran all the latest iOS and some days there are limits and some days there are not. Then I'll set new limits and this works for one, two or three days and then they are gone again. And then comes the day where all limits are back. Then I've five limits for one app.

As Richard_uk10 said, Google does a really good job with Family Link. That works. Period.

We pay a ton of money for Apple products and such a important feature is only a mess right now.

Please take this serious and fix that problem.

And yes. I've tried all the tipps out there. Deactive, restart, updates. I've even reset my iPhone from scratch. Nothing works longer than a few days.

For the record. I set limits for my two Kids. They have different devices and that issue affects all.
