Screen sharing 10.6.8 with 2012 iPad

Anybody know if I can use a 2012 iPad to screen share and control an old 2006 MacBook Pro or similar vintage Mac Mini running 10.6.8?

I used to use the "headless" Mac Mini as a music server for all my ripped CDs about a decade ago. I would control it by screen sharing on the MacBook Pro. I'm trying to resurrect my old music system and have a line on a cheap 2012 iPad Mini. So I was wondering if I could use that to control either the Mac Mini or the MacBook Pro that is hooked up to my stereo.

Thanks.

If you can login your AppleID with the older Mac's iTunes, and share the music, your iPad should be able to browse that music if on the same AppleID and the same WiFi network. Note, this is not screen sharing per se.

For Screen sharing VNC is probably the kind of App you will need, and they would need to be on the same WiFi network. There are VNC servers that can be run on the old machine, but not many are supported anymore.
