Music will not quit, only force quit

I recently moved to a brand new Mac Studio with Ventura from a 2017 iMac. I was running Ventura on the iMac with no issues. The new Music had no problem accepting my old settings and opened all my playlists and found my music (on an external hard drive).

The first problem was when I quit the program and had what I have since found is a pretty common problem with no clear answer -- it would not stop saving my music library. Infinite save. I kept force quitting because I was still setting up and needed this process to stop. I looked for an answer, couldn't find one and decided to let it go and see if it would finally stop and life could go on. Keep in mind that while music was running it was fine. But on quitting, it was the infinite "saving music library".

it saved for two days before I finally force quit it, because at this point I wanted to update the machine to the newest version of Venture (this was just last week, so whatever version was available then) which involved restarting.

Good news! The update fixed the infinite save! Now I have a new problem. Music just won't quit at all. Every time I hit quit it hangs. The window won't close and the SBOD floats over the window. So I have to force quit, and the next morning when I open it all my settings are gone because it can't save anything if it doesn't quit like a normal app. So I keep fixing it to look the way I want, using it all day just fine, no issues - I've even added new music and updated my ancient iPod classic with no problems - until it is time to quit and it just hangs.

I let it go last night thinking it might just be taking forever and it was still sitting there when I got in this morning and I had to force quit again.

My Studio is brand new, I just got it set up last week. The only other things I have loaded on it are Adobe CS, AirTable, Microsoft office and Astropad, all of which I use for work (and were on my old iMac). Literally everything else is working great with no issues.

Any help would be appreciated, I know this isn't the most important problem in the world but it's really annoying and I'd like to quit without forcing at least once so it'll open the way I want for a change.

Thank you.

Any security software? Right-click the package and check for the presence of (possibly) hidden .tmp files inside it. Shift+Cmd+. should show/hide hidden files. You might try holding Alt/Option as you launch Music to explicitly reselect the library. You can also try holding Alt/Option+Cmd as you open Music to open it in safe mode, then see if it will close and reopen normally.
