Does anyone know why my messages to my husband would be green but messages to my son are blue? They both have the same model of phone. We all have iMessages turned on. My messages are blue to everyone else. Just green to my husband. We are all on the same plan.

Greetings cathyladkins13,

That's a great question and we're glad you had the chance to check that iMessage is enabled on all your devices. Based on the description you provided, it sounds as though your husband may not be signed in into iMessage using the Apple ID or phone number you're attempting to send messages to. To sign in to iMessage, you'll want to follow the steps listed below. You can also find these steps outlined in the following article.

  1. "Go to Settings > Messages and make sure that iMessage is on. You might need to wait a moment for it to activate.
  2. Tap Send & Receive. If you see “Use your Apple ID for iMessage,” tap it and sign in with the same Apple ID that you use on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch.
  3. In the "You can receive iMessages to and Reply From" section, make sure that your phone number and Apple ID are selected.
  4. Go to Settings > FaceTime and make sure that your phone number and Apple ID are selected in the "You can be reached by FaceTime at" section."

Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime

If you're having issues activating iMessage while walking through those steps, the following article can be helpful in reaching a solution.

If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime

Have a great day!
