m2 macbook pro main screen flickers when connected to second monitor.

I recently bought Macbook Pro m2. Works fine on its own.

When I connect external monitor, my macbook main display violently flickers randomly but external monitor does not.

So far I have tried switching different external monitor, tired switching HDMI cables, tried switching display settings refresh rate and color profile , tried switching different dongles, updated software, did SMC reset.

Nothing seems to resolve

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.1

When you connect an external display AND use [√] Mirror displays, the displays are BOTH set to a 'compromise' resolution that appears to be attainable by both displays, and both displays are refreshed in lock step, using the SAME rasterizer/display-generator:

You also have the option to concatenate the displays along an edge of your choosing, which combines them into one larger "Extended Desktop". In this case, each will use its native resolution and separate display generator will be used for each display:

Im currently using it as Extended display. Using OS Ventura. Wanted to see if there are any solutions to it

what display make&model or a link to its specs?

what cables adapters, docks are you using to make the connection? please mention EVERY item.
