merge two versions of a document so that differences are marked?
I accidentally worked on an earlier version of a paper and want to merge the newer version while being able to see the differences

Any merging of two documents is a manual copy/paste process as Pages has no automation for this purpose. You would visit Edit menu > Track Changes in the recipient document before you make any changes.
