How can I delete some old backups in Time Machine on the Mac OS Ventura.

You are better off starting new on Ventura. If space is not being freed up...
Trying to manually mess with the TM database is not advised and typically does not end well.
If you value your user data
3-2-1 Backup Strategy: three copies of your data, two different methods, and one offsite.
More than one device, more than one backup methodology.

You can't. When TM needs additional space for a backup it will automatically delete the older backup on the drive.
