Powerbeats Pro spatial audio

Hello all,

I just purchased Powerbeats Pro and have been unable to get spatial audio to work. After looking up lots of resources there seems to be contradicting information as to whether these earbuds support it or not. The Beats product page says they do, yet I found a page on Apple's website where they were not mentioned regarding products that work with atmos/spatial audio. Essentially, I have heard "should" or "probably not" from people but nothing concrete. Does anyone know for sure?

I greatly appreciate any help. I'm not sure if my earbuds are working properly or not.

Hi PillowCat,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! The Powerbeats Pro do not support spatial audio. The following article list the requirements for spatial audio that can help:

Listen with spatial audio for AirPods and Beats

•AirPods Pro (1st or 2nd generation), AirPods Max, AirPods (3rd generation), or Beats Fit Pro
•The built-in speakers on an iPhone 7 or later, or on one of these iPad models:
iPad Pro 12.9‑inch (3rd generation) and later
iPad Pro 11‑inch
iPad Air (3rd generation) and later
iPad (6th generation) and later
iPad mini (5th generation) and later
•iOS or iPadOS 15.1 or later
•The built-in speakers on a Mac computer with Apple silicon
•Apple TV 4K with tvOS 15 or later
•Audiovisual content from a supported app

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.

P.S. from what I’ve gathered in other posts and from the support page linked below, Powerbeats Pro may support and use spatial audio when available but not the head tracking aspect. Spatial audio is allegedly just “on” for all spatial audio content but you don’t get an option to turn it off, or to simulate it for stereo audio. Confusing, and still misleading.
