Switching apple ID

I'm going to India and want to install some apps before I go so that I have access to them. Because I live in a different region and don't want to change regions, I decided to create a new Apple ID with the Indian region.My doubt is mentioned below; I hope someone helps me out with an idea.

  1. I have a one-year app subscription and a six-month Apple Music subscription with AirPods; will I still have that subscription if I log out and log back in later?
  2. Can I access the installed apps from my Indian ID if I switch to my main ID after installing apps from my Indian ID?
  3. Do I need to backup my phone before switching from main ID to Indian ID, and will WhatsApp be uninstalled?

1) You may encounter this:

Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions - Legal - Apple Media Services - Apple -

"Certain Services and Content available to you in your Home Country may not be available to you when traveling outside of your Home Country."

In other words, you may find you cannot connect to the service outside a certain region. Apple doesn't specify when exactly this applies and to which services.


2) You have access to the apps available to you for the country which the Apple ID is using that is signed into the device. If the ID is using the US store (for example) you will have access to US apps. Any apps that are on the device will remain on the device unless you erase the device. However, as mentioned above. it is conceivable that if the app is trying to connect to a particular service such as a program stream and the service does not allow streaming from outside a region then that service may not be available. In that case it isn't a problem with the app, it a case of the service saying, "Hey, we don't let people outside the USA see our shows."


3) Backing up is always a good idea.

Re. Whatsapp. If you have it on the phone now then it should still be on the phone when you log out of one ID and log in with the other unless you specifically choose to erase the device when doing the transition.
