several months ago I misplaced my iPad, I don't have the serial number and I don't have 'find my'. I do remember the passcode, how can I locate the missing iPad without using find my

Without Find My your only options are the conventional ones. Find My is the only lost item service Apple offers. Ask lost and found places.
