i use maps (Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze) for navigation. What I haven’t figured as to how to go back to navigation when I answer an incoming call. It gets annoying as I have to tap on maps button again to go back to navigation.
Is there any way to automate the screen back to navigation after answering the call?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Currently, the ability for CarPlay to automatically return to Maps after a phone call is not an available option. However, you can enable "Hey Siri", and speak the command to return to the Maps. Get the steps to do so from the Apple Support article: Use Siri to Control CarPlay - Apple Support
Use Siri on CarPlay
1. Do one of the following until Siri beeps:
• Press and hold the voice command button on the steering wheel.
• Touch and hold the CarPlay Dashboardor CarPlay Home
button on a touchscreen displaying CarPlay.
• You can also say “Hey Siri” to activate Siri in supported vehicles.

Thank you so much for the reply. I tried the Siri approach. It worked with all apps (Audible, Podcast, Music) to ask Siri to go back to Maps but not with an active call. When I tried to activate Siri by holding on the button on steering wheel, it just put the call on hold and never activated Siri.
