Macbook replacement/ refund

I received a macbook damaged in transit, returned the macbook and was told i’d receive a replacement and had emails to show that they were replacing the damaged macbook and even shows on the order status page.

However today i received a ‘credit memo’ for the amount i paid for the date that the replacement was requested/ ordered and in the product description it says order reason : Defective.

Does the order memo mean a refund of the amount i paid back to my card or will I still get the replacement item they said i’d receive?
