New Charger Cable Not Working

I bought a new cable about a month ago, it worked for about a week and stopped working, I have a spare cable and that works fine. I have read here cables have a 1 year warranty but when I login to apple support and try to enter the serial number I get an error about the item being ineligible for service/repair. How do I get this cable replaced/fixed, I spent almost $50 on a cable and wall plug that don’t work.

Thanks, I have read that but apples website does not allow you to submit a refund/replacement request, they say I must input a serial number to submit a support request, when I enter that info it says the item does not qualify. I don’t live anywhere near an Apple Store. I will call them tomorrow, tech support is closed now, I have always used apple products and I wasn’t happy paying $48 for a new charger but I did because I keep reading aftermarket brands can damage your item. Thanks for your response, I think this will be my last apple purchase if they won’t help me.
