Assistive Touch keeps turning on randomly

Greetings Apple Community,

My iPhone 8+ turns on Assistive Touch randomly, and when it turns on there is a new option in accessibility called "Pointer Control", when it turns off by itself that option disappears. I think that my iPhone thinks a pointer / mouse gets connected randomly while I've never connected a mouse to it.

I've seen countless articles and stories about this, but the solutions consists of "Turn off Back Tap" or "Check Triple Tap Home Button". I have checked all options and None of them trigger the Assistive Touch. I have reset the phone 2 times, each time I reset the phone, the issue is resolved for a day or two and then returns to the same issue.

The first time this issue started is when I went to the Apple Store to fix my Touch ID, after that I went to them for this specific issue, and they refused to fix anything in software because of the Touch ID not working. I don't understand how Touch ID can cause this issue or any reason for it to remain after a full data reset. I hope this community can help me with this issue.

Best Regards,

BenitzCoding

The battery was replaced on last year November.

I don't know what to tell you other than I don't remember the name of that company, and it has nothing to do with the battery but rather the phone thinking it got connected to a mouse which never happened. May I know why you think that the issue is with the battery and not anything else, and your first question was about the battery?

When was the battery replaced?

Did the Touch ID & Assistive Touch problem begin before or after the battery replacement?

And was it replaced by a qualified technician using a genuine iPhone battery?...

Again, when was the battery replaced?

And when you enter the repair provider's details at the site below, do you get a big green ✅ ?...

My Touch ID issue started before the battery replacement, hence why I went to the Apple store, and the Assistive Touch issue started after they connected my iPhone to the Mac for diagnostic check. The Assistive Touch has not been a problem before, but only after I went to the Apple Store due to the issue of my Touch ID (When I had the Touch ID issue Assistive touch wasn't a issue, but started when I went to the apple store.) After a few months since The Assistive Touch became a issue, is when I had the battery replaced. I don't think it has to do anything with the battery.

Here is the events in order:

Touch ID -> Apple Store for Touch ID issue -> Assistive Touch issue -> Battery replacement

I have checked, the battery is genuine. No unknown part message is present.

When last year? ...January? ...December? ...There's a big difference!

"...I don't remember the provider's company name (...) That store is well known..."

That doesn't make sense. ...If the store is "well known" you should know and remember it.

Because your iPhone is an older model 8 Plus and so, simply by its age, the battery can be the cause of issues. The answers to those two questions I first asked (original battery & max capacity) and follow-up questions can determine whether the battery may be the cause of the issue:

Either such an old iPhone needs its original battery replaced or, has had a nongenuine iPhone battery put in by an unqualified technician.

And since "That store is well known", I suggest you ask around – because someone must surely know the name of such a "well known" store.
