Model A1278 13" 4/13/2010 - 2/24/2011 S/N 340481VMATM
It came without a hard drive and optical drive and has broken or missing HD & Optical cables which I an able to replace. I have 3 15" and 2 13" 2008 to 2011 models (the other 13" is broken and I also have a broken 2014 model) and this is the only one with a cable like this. Thanks, Dave

Thank you for your answer. The two pictures are the same cable, one facing down and then turned over to show the contacts. The cable had just been bent/positioned incorrectly leading to the HD area. Yes, it was a LVDS display cable and I was able to find where it should have been connected which had a tab covering it. The Mac still doesn't work but at least the cable is located properly now. So thanks again for steering me in the right direction. Dave

You are showing two different cables. The one in the second photo looks like the LVDS display cable as that is the only cable on the older Macs which have that type of connector.
The cable shown in the first picture I don't know. It has been a while since I worked on those older models. All I know is the cables shown are not in their normal locations. There are sites out there where you can get some pictures and instructions for repairing Apple computers which we are not allowed to post here. iFixIt is one site.
