Restarting a timer that has elapsed

I used to use the command "restart timer" with Siri on my iPhone to repeat a timer that has elapsed. This was on iOS 14. After the upgrade to iOS 16, I get "There are no timers set." instead. Ditto for "repeat timer". This was a lot simpler than saying "Start timer for six and a half minutes" (or whatever duration I had before).

Is there a new command available to use instead of what I was using?

Can this behavior be restored to Siri on iPhone?

Hello MarkTheManiac,

We understand that Siri is not repeating a timer when asked. This appears to be unexpected behavior. In that case, we'd like to provide you with a few steps that may be able to help resolve this issue:

Restart your iPhone. This may seem like a simple steps to take but it refreshed your device and your software:

"How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.

The volume button is located on the left side of the device, and the side button is located on the right

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

Update your iPhone or iPad. Completing this step ensures that your device has the latest fixes. (Secure your data with a backup)
