Hello flyboy43,
Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
These steps should help:
"If your screen is too sensitive or responds intermittently to touch
More details can be found here: If the screen isn't working on your iPhone or iPad
If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? Does this happen when using specific apps?
Also, you are running an older iPadOS version. Back up and update your device using this article: Update your iPhone or iPad
Once you update, test to see if the issue persists.
Cheers!
Hello flyboy43,
At this point, your best option would be to have the device inspected by a technician so that they can determine the cause of the issue. You'll want to contact Apple Support so that they can look into available service options with you.
Have a great day!
Powered off/on ipad
Removed screen protector
Cleaned screen
Reset setting in settings/general/reset ipad
I had updated to 16.2 (issues started)
Updated to 16.3 (no change)
Touch screen works sometimes and then fails
Some times the screen will change without touching the screen
All screens effected, Home screen, settings screen, brave, youtube, facebook, etc
Is it possible to return to 15.x version?
I would prefer not to have to restart the ipad
Is there an update coming to 16.x that addresses this issue?
Hi flyboy43,
With all the troubleshooting you've tried so far, it seems like this may be a physical issue with your device. With that said, you'd need to reach out to Apple to look into service options: Get Support
Cheers.
It does seem strange that this started happening on the ios update. Would it be worth replacing the screen responsible for the touch?
