iPhone SE 2nd gen won't receive incoming calls

My wife's iPhone SE 2nd gen has worked fine for past 1+ years. It now won't take calls. If caller leaves voice mail it first arrives on her phone after an hour or so. If she powers off her phone and then powers back on it will again accept calls but then after 30 minutes or so it stops receiving calls. Power off and then power on only fixes problem for a short time. There is plenty of storage space on her phone. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Try this -> remove and reinsert the SIM card.

If it doesn't help contact your carrier, maybe the SIM card is damaged, ask for a replaced (new) card. Normally it is free.

Also  ask to check if the SIM tray is bent, as even a tiny misalignment can cause the SIM card to not fully connect with the internal contacts in your iPhone.
