preview says iPad2 is locked. how to unlock?
I have an 2010 model iPad2 that I take pictures with but when I connect it to my computer, uses Big Sur, it does not bring up iTunes for adding the pictures to my computer. I have used Preview for ages as it used to be more effecient and allows me to put the pictures where I want them instead of the alblums.
What is happening now is that when I invoke 'download from wbates iPad' the pictures come up on on my computer somewhat dimmed with the notice "Please unlock wbates iPad"
I am still able to 'drag/drop' the pictures to the desktop but get the 'couldn't be opened because you dont have permission to view it' and the picture shows on the desktop with full access capability using Preview.
The iPad has never had the 'screen saver' (sic) invoked such that the home screen is 24/7 active. I also did not password the unit unless it somehow was activated during IOS upgrades or downloading games such that when I turn it off then back on it always comes up to the home screen.
What is meant by these errors? Is there a correct way to unlock the unit?
