How do I unlock my MacBook with a PIN I don’t have?

Please help! My MacBook has been locked for awhile now because my iCloud or Find My Mac somehow locked me out! It disabled my computer and now the screen has a countdown that says I can try again in 60 minutes.

Hi ConfusedNovice3,

It looks like your Mac got locked via Find My. If you locked it yourself, you might be able to get the unlock PIN from https://icloud.com/find. If you purchased it second-hand from a third party, contact them for assistance. Or, contact Apple directly for assistance (you will need proof of ownership): Apple Support

"How do I unlock my MacBook with a PIN I don’t have?: I tried Apple support, however, all of the attempts didn’t work. It now asks me for the Firmware access code. I don’t know where to locate that."

About the Firmware Access Code:

Your Hard Drive is Encrypted. So, when you formatted your hard drive, you (or whomever) made it so that a password needs to be entered to make direct changes to it. Try your administrator password. Elsewise, think of keywords of things you wold have used for a password, (i.e. names and places). If you did not set this Mac up, then ask the person who did to enter the password. If you can't find it, then you just have to guess.
