my headsets microphone doesn't work when MBP is in clamshell mode

it used to work perfectly fine before but all of a sudden my headsets microphone would not work whenever my mac is in clamshell mode. it works fine when my mac isnt in clamshell mode and i was wondering if there was a way to fix this(it always switches to the built in microphone)

We recommend that you try the steps in the link below since your headset isn't working with your MacBook Pro when it's in clamshell mode.


If a Bluetooth headset doesn’t work with Mac


To perform the recommended troubleshooting steps via the link above, follow the instructions in the section below.


*Make sure the headset is turned on and in range.

*Make sure the headset is connected with your Mac. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Bluetooth  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Check to see if your headset is in the list of devices on the right.

If your headset isn’t in the list, try connecting with it again. See the documentation that came with your headset for information about connecting your headset with your Mac.

*Make sure the headset is charged or has fresh batteries.

*Make sure the headset is selected as the input or output device in Sound settings. See Change Sound settings on Mac.


We recommend the steps above because they will show you what to do if you’re having trouble using a Bluetooth-enabled headset.
