Strange bruising from iwatch S4

I have worn this watch daily for over a year always taking off to charge at night. This last few weeks I have been getting these strange bruises appearing where the sensor is? I do not have it on tightly and have done nothing different, I’m too worried to wear it now, anyone know what this is and if it might be due to a worn or faulty laser due to the age of the watch??
