iphone14 with youtube tv app freezes screen

YouTube TV app freezes 95% of the time upon launching on new phone. I try to select a channel, and immediately freezes. Have to exit app and try again. Running 16.2, then just installed 16.3. Have deleted and re-installed the app many times. YouTube TV support is not helpful. Apple Support tried a few things but said it's a developer problem. The app works well on my wife's iPhone 12 running 16.2. So, do I have a glitchy phone?
