answering conflict between watch and phone

When I receive a call and attempt to answer it on my phone, occasionally the call cannot be answered on my phone. I am assuming it is conflict with my watch, but I don't really know. It is an up-to-date iPhone X and a two year old SE Watch. Watch OS up-to-date also.

Is there something I can do other than call back?

Thank you.

I've thought about this some more throughout the day...

The next time that it happens, check these two buttons and see if either one of them is on.

I'm connected to the car play (Bluetooth) of my service truck in this picture. If your Bluetooth looks like this, then something is for sure snagging your call. The other button is the mute. When it's activated, you'd hear them saying, "Hello, hello", they wouldn't be able to hear you.

Ok.

*** Note - Sometimes on this forum, you will need to click "Show More" and "Less" a couple times in order to see the whole reply and attached pictures (There are 3 in this reply). ***

From your phone, go into Settings (gear icon), then Bluetooth.

It'll show you a list of the devices and then a blue i. Click on the i for each device.

After clicking on the i, click on "Device Type"

You'll have the opportunity to change (or select) the device type.

Run through the devices, setting the device type, and MAYBE that will help you out in the future so that the other devices don't steal your conversation.

Others might know exactly what you're saying here, but I'm not certain.

A. You're receiving a call, you're looking at the screen of your phone, you can NOT get the answer button to respond and answer the call?

B. You're receiving a call, you're looking at the screen of your phone, you press the answer button and the call connects but then the folks on the other end can't hear you saying "Hello"?

If it's B, then I'm wondering if another Bluetooth device is snagging the call. Like it's playing the sound through the speakers of a vehicle that is running and is within range.
