Disable pop-up asking "...would like to access files in your Documents folder"

I've spent hours on this and I'm completely stuck.

How can I disable this message? Or make it remember I've given permission?

Working in VSCode, running C++ code through it with certain config settings makes this pop-up appear, and even if I confirm it, it still pops up every time, not just once. I say"certain config settings" b/c I was able to get it to go away accidentally, but I'm not sure how — it had to do with nested folders and file names.

Facts:

  • I'm working in the Documents folder and cannot move the project out (so don't suggest this)
  • I've given 'Full Disk Access' to the app already as well as Xcode (just in case)
