Airpod Max connecting to PC - Stereo working but hands free no sound

Hi, when I first got my airpod max, I had no problem connecting it to the PC. Then and even now, I have two options on my sound setting (Airpod Max Stereo and Airpod Max Hands free). I used Hands free for my zoom calls, etc.

Now, Stereo is still working fine, but I can't get the sound to come out on my airpod max. I tried factory resetting my Airpod Max, I tried to disconnect it from my PC (forget my device) and reconnecting, but I am still not getting the audio in the hands free mode, which is an issue because that's what I use for conference calls.

Please help.

Hi junghwan242,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're not able to hear any sound from your AirPods Mac in Hands Free mode. but you can in Stereo on your PC.

Since you're still experiencing the same behavior after resetting your AirPods, you may consider connecting your AirPods to an iPhone or a Mac with the most recent operating system in order to update the AirPods firmware.

To update the firmware, you can connect the AirPods to an iPhone or Mac. Make sure that you have a Wi-Fi connection and Bluetooth is enabled. Listen to content for at least 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, place your AIrPods in their case, close the lid, use a Lightning cable to connect the Charging Case to power. Wait 30 minutes for the firmware to update.

If you're still unable to use Hand Free mode, we'd suggest that you contact Apple directly as your AirPods may require repair. You can reach Apple here: Apple Support
