Dictation issues since latest update

Since the latest update, my phone has been repeating text, receiving dictation when the microphone isn't even enabled. When the dictation is enabled, it repeats, when it isn't it doesn't repeat but it records everything from the background even - other conversations, etc. It is extremely annoying. It is a new iPhone 14 plus, BTW.

Good day to you Delly-ware,

We hope you’ll help us further isolate the situation, so we can provide focused troubleshooting. Is this happening in all apps or is it app specific? Does it happen when headphones are connected as well? What is being repeated? For example, does the text look similar to, ‘this this is is a a sentence sentence..’?

You mentioned the latest update -

Please be sure we’re working with iOS 16.3 and you can do that in Settings > General > Software Update. Update your iPhone or iPad

Another thing to check, is Voice Control enabled? Use Voice Control on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

How to turn on Voice Control
1. Go to Settings and select Accessibility.
2. Select Voice Control, then select Set up Voice Control. A download will begin in the background.

When the download is complete, a microphone will appear in the status bar of your device that indicates that Voice Control is listening or not listening.

Thanks.

I did report the issue to Apple support first before going to the community, and they said there was nothing that could be done, but to log it as a question in the community. I updated another iPhone XR in my household to the latest 16.3 software version and did a test to see if sentences would repeat and it doesn't. I am going to contact Verizon to replace the 14phone. It is really annoying to have sentences repeat 3 times in a row. Maybe it is something wrong with the 14 plus.

Thank you. My phone is operating on 16.3 iOS. Voice control was already activated. It happens in any app where dictation is an option, texts, emails, browsing, etc. It repeats whole sentences sometimes two and three times, then I am forced to go back and delete it. I just put in my Airpod earbuds and it did not repeat the text. But now "hey Siri" isn't working at all, when it was earlier. Also, I was on a call earlier and the message told me to press 4 for an option, and my finger wasn't anywhere near the keypad and the phone randomly chose "4" twice. This is all driving me crazy because I dictate a lot of personal and work texts and emails throughout the day, even search things on Safari using dictation, but the repeating is extremely annoying.
