Text tone not working

The text tone for my SE 2nd Gen doesn't sound. The badge appears, but no sound.

1. First, check if you have set your iPhone to Silent.

Check the switch on the side of your iPhone, above the Volume Buttons. If it is red, your iPhone is silent.

2. Check if you have muted a conversation. Open the Messages app, look at the message you just received in the overview, or some of your other conversations. If there is a bell with a line over it, the conversation is muted. You will therefore not receive any sounds, but will only see a badge. To change this, swipe from left to right on the message, tap the purple bell. If the bell has disappeared from the message, it is no longer muted.

3. Check if you have Do Not Disturb activated. Swipe up your Control Center from the bottom. Look for Focus (Do Not Disturb Moon icon) - if it's active, disable it.

4. Check whether you have an SMS tone associated. Go to:

Settings -> Sound and Haptics. Check the Message tone to see if it can be heard. Also check the volume in the same menu.
