Garmin RV890 GPS Compatibility

My Garmin device isn’t recognized by my MacBook M2 with Ventura 13.1. Apple and Garmin support can’t figure it out after lengthy communications with both. Has anyone have success with a hub? Garmin says that “some of their customers have had success with a 2.0 hub”. And after Apple did all they could try they suggested that since Garmin suggested it that would be the only think left to try. I’ve asked Garmin if it was compatible with Ventura and the M2 but no response yet.

I don’t really understand why a hub would make a difference though.
