I can’t hear some calls when they come through or when I make them and I don’t know why?

I have tried to set iPhone and network settings, toggled with airplane mode and nothing seems to be working

iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 15

If you haven't already, please try to adjust the volume during calls using the steps in the following resource:

Adjust the volume on iPhone

We also recommend restarting your device and keeping it updated as those steps assure you have cleared out any minor software issues and are running the most current version.

Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Let us know the results. Does the issue persist when using the speaker or headphones? Does the issue occur on FaceTime calls, or in certain location?

I tried all of those things but nothing worked at the time. It was only some of my contacts not all. Even when on loud speaker, I couldn’t hear anything but they could hear me. In the end I gave up, and the next morning it somehow fixed itself. No idea what happened but it’s not happened since then.
