How to change verification methods
I can only receive verification codes by phone calls, what should I do to receive them by SMS?

"Go to https://appleid.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID (and verify with 2FA if needed), click on Edit next to Security and add the number. You will be prompted for text or voice.
Note that if your Mac is logged in to iCloud with the same Apple ID as your phone you can also get the prompt on your Mac."
