Double calendar alerts on Apple Watch

I get two alerts for each event in the calendar, even though I only get one alert on the iPhone. Calendar notifications are set to mirror. I already tried resetting sync data, and re-pairing my watch, but the issue persists.

I don't think that I'm going to be able to give you a definitive answer but I think that I can get you on the right path.

I believe that you might have more than one calendar at play here.

From your phone, go into the Watch app.

Scroll down to Calendars and click on it.

On my Series 8, I see "Notifications" and it's set to Mirror my IPhone.

Below that I see "Calendars" and again mine is set to Mirror my iPhone.

For fun, I clicked on Custom in the Calendars section and I saw a list that had doubles of almost everything! (See screenshot)

So... Are both of these areas set on Mirror my iPhone?

Next, I think that we should look in your phone Settings (gear icon). Scroll down to Calendars and click on it.

On mine, it shows that I have 2 accounts. One is iCloud and the other is my Yahoo.

On down the screen, it says "Default Calendar". When I went into there, it shows one checkmarked, Calendar. I'm not sure what calendar it is though, lol (see screenshot).

I don't get duplicates and so I really think that there is just something in your settings that needs changed.

After going through many debugging steps, I can only conclude that this is a bug with MS Exchange - WatchOS calendar integration. I don't get double alerts for other calendars (iCloud/Google), only with this one, even after removing the calendar from my iCloud account and adding it again. I've submitted a bug report, but I won't hold my breath.

Thanks for trying to help, but in my case, everything's very vanilla:

  1. Notifications are set to Mirror my iPhone
  2. When I set it to custom, I see the correct list of all my calendars
  3. In my Settings, my calendars are listed and my default is iCloud

I thought that maybe my work calendar is syncing to my iCloud calendar, causing double events, but no. Everything looks correct. And both events I get notified for occur in the same Calendar (it's not that one event is in Work and the other is in iCloud, indicating duplication).

Weird.

MS = Microsoft?

I use Outlook on my phone but I have the actual app for it and don't have it going into the Apple Mail app, only yahoo goes there.

My Outlook incoming mail alerts go to my watch (and phone).

I primarily use the Apple calendar for everything. There are very few entries in the Outlook one and none that I can think of in the yahoo one (do they have a calendar? Probably).

Hopefully things will work themselves out for you!
