Glad to hear the update did it. Usually updates don't make such repairs. It makes me wonder if you are running any optimizers that might have wiped the system cache creating a problem. Don't use any optimizers. Mackeeper, Advanced Mac Cleaner are all bad news.
Safari favorites are dependent on iCloud. It is possible that they are in the midst of being backed up to iCloud through the System Preferences for backing up to iCloud.
When you are saying no color, are you talking about the icon other than generic globe, next to the favorite (called bookmarks in Safari), or was the text itself actually colored? Macmaps page below is my personal homepage which may give me compensation. If you need to post an image, use this link for guidance:

Which favorites?
With me they are on my homepage, and only since I installed Big Sur update 11.7.3. Some are completely white and the others are an intial but greyed out?
So are you talking about your Safari favorites?
Sorry, yes I am, and I’ve noticed many other people on different forums are saying the same thing. It’s only been since the Safari update.
Okay. Thanks for your reply.
nope . all up to date all backed, still no color since Big Sur update
There has been an update, and now my safari home page is back to normal. 🙂
