I've just purchased from the Apple App store Libre Office, but I cannot do much with it as it seems to want Java installed.
I understood that Apple doesn't allow Java to run on their system so there seems no point in paying for something I cannot use to it's full potential.
I can make a database ok, but cannot produce Forms/Reports etc without Java.
Is it OK to install Java on my Mac?

I don't know why/how you "bought" LibreOffice. LibreOffice is free. Get it from their website.

I believe it's only a few things that might require Java. I use LO and I don't use Java.

Read the link I provided. I am pretty sure it said that the App store version does not have Java because the App Store won't allow it.
Yes I understand that Libre is free from their website and I did download but it wouldn’t run without installing Java. I got the message that it might not be safe to install this. I then saw that Libre was on the App Store @ £7.99 so assumed this was a safer option, not realising from the App description that it would still require Java to run the database program which is all I actually want it for.
