Dock disappears

Os16, iPad Air 5th gen. Sorry interface put this under MacBook.

The dock at the bottom of the screen goes away (down and off screen) when I swipe left or right on main screen.

It comes back upon swiping up but there is no reason or increase in functionality having it go away and leave a blank space in its place.

Furthermore, I cannot drag apps to the dock anymore as it goes away when I touch any app. I’d like to know if anyone knows how to fix this without resetting all of my settings. BTW, stage manager on or off does nothing.

Thanks.

Hi ET6363,

The following steps address what you're describing specifically, and should provide a solution:

"On your Mac, use Desktop & Dock settings to change the appearance of the Dock and to select items to show in the menu barand in Control Centre.

To change these settings, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Desktop & Dock  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)

Automatically hide and show the Dock.

Hide the Dock when you’re not using it. To show the hidden Dock, move the pointer to the edge of the screen where the Dock is located."

You can find these steps along with other information that may be helpful, here: Change Desktop & Dock settings on Mac – Apple Support

If you have followed the steps correctly and you still have the issue, let us know if you get any specific alerts or error messages when trying, as those may help us determine what might be causing the issue.

Cheers!
