Airdrop does not work after MacOS 13.2 and iOS 16.3 updates

My iMac is 2020 build. I have the latest updates, plenty of memory. Wifi working, Firewall set up and settings to accept transfers from "contacts only" and tried "everyone". Multiple issues when I check settings on my iMac and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Basically after the update I could no longer transfer photos from my iPhone to my iMac via Airdrop.

Finder shows AirDrop recognizes iPhone. My iMac is found on the phone's bluetooth but when I go to connect it "xxxxx iMac is not supported. Just once yesterday it did give me the code to use to pair the devices but after I tried to pair them, it gave me the same error message.

Another issue, I can go into my phone settings and change them back to where they were for AirDrop to work. Even after I hard boot both devices those setting changes go back to what they were before they were changes, preventing any kind of transfer.

I suspect this is from my choice to choose the new iOS 16 policy for higher security on file transfers.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix this?

Let’s see if we can get that working as it should Stevflo,

Change Siri settings on iPhone - Apple Support -- When you go to Settings > Siri & Search, is "Press Side Button for Siri” on? If it’s not, turn it on and test.

If it was, in Siri & Search, turn off Listen for “Hey Siri”, Press Side Button for Siri, and “Allow Siri When Locked”. Then restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Once your iPhone is back to the Home screen, turn on the settings you’d just turned off and see if the side button works.

Please let us know the results when you're able.

All the best.
