How to turn off the Floating Keyboard

I have purchased numerous Apple products over the years. I held off on tablets until last year when I decided an iPad Pro was a better option for me instead of upgrading my MacBook Pro. However, I am having buyers remorse for the first time on any of the 30+ Apple products I’ve purchased in my lifetime. HOW DO I TURN OFF THE FLOATING KEYBOARD!?!???

To easily return the new Floating Keyboard to the normal on-screen keyboard presentation, use the two-finger “zoom” gesture (i.e., the reverse of the two-finger “pinch”).

If the Split Keyboard is restored instead of the full on-screen keyboard, you can either use two fingers (one on each of the two half-keyboards) and swipe the two halves together - or touch-and-hold the “keyboard” key, then slide your finger to the Merge & Dock option and release.

Split and move the keyboard on your iPad – Apple Support

While you can freely switch between the available onscreen keyboard types, none can be completely disabled.
