Existing AppleTV subscription is inaccessible and asking for my apple id indstead

I have an account for Apple Id. Now that I have a new macpro, the cloud is updating my logins and telling me to open appletv with my id and starting a new subscription. Does this override my old subscription which has 20 days left on this month? I don't want to be paying double

On Macs, sign in to the Apple TV app from the Account menu, with the Apple ID account that has the Apple TV+ subscription. Then that should get recognized, and you wouldn’t be asked to subscribe. Users can’t have two if the same subscription on one account, so you wouldn’t be paying double with one account in use.
