how do you apply a formula to an entire sheet?

If you are new to Numbers then I highly recommend you spend some time at Help > Numbers Help in your menu.


Particularly relevant to your question is the section on Autofill cells in Numbers on Mac.


To find it you can search for "autofill" at Numbers Help. You can also access it by following this link:

Note that in Numbers a "sheet" has a blank canvas on which you can place tables, charts and other objects. Tables have the cells with formulas. Sheets don't.
