Why is this showing up in my networks choice?

There is more than one iPhone whose name is “iPhone” that is connected, or has been connected in the past. So it adds an index to differentiate the phones. You can fix it by renaming your phone: Go to Settings/General/About, tap on the current name and edit it. Be creative; for example, my iPhone’s name is “Don’t Panic”.
